When Dana first came to the Yoga mat in 1995, she was amazed that she could feel at home in her own body. As she continued to practice, that feeling grew into what she calls a joy rising from within. This kind of acceptance and joy is what Dana brings to her classes. She encourages her students to honor their bodies and accept themselves where they are at any given moment. You’ll often hear her reminding students to smile while holding a challenging pose! An E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance since 2009, Dana received her 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Master, Edely Wallace of Yogamatrix Studio in Orlando, FL.
Dana has been leading Laughter Yoga Clubs since 2010 and received her Laughter Yoga Teacher Certification from the founder of Laughter Yoga, the Giggling Guru himself, Dr. Madan Kataria. She was first exposed to Laughter Yoga at a difficult time in her life when she really needed help in keeping a positive mental attitude. She immediately knew that Laughter Yoga was for her and hasn’t looked back since. Sharing the joys and health benefits of Laughter Yoga with others is what keeps her playful and positive.
Dana is also the co-founder, lead singer & harmonium player for TBD-To Bring Devotion, a Kirtan band. Kirtan is devotional chanting that is another powerful heart-opening practice. Kirtan is part of Bhakti Yoga, the Yoga of Unconditional Love.
Dana currently teaches group Hatha, Yin & Laughter Yoga classes at Maitland Harmony Yoga, Altamonte Springs Yoga & The Jewish Community Center . She also teaches small-group & private yoga lessons, as well as corporate and group Laughter events.
